Our courses are suitable for all experience levels. Our WEBER classes generally run from 3 – 4 hours depending on the course. We do have other bespoke residential Programmes, dinner party master classes to children’s courses, which are tailor-made for group bookings and corporates. Many courses focus on recipes important to Tjaart, showcasing dishes that have been inspired to him from his travels and foodie journey, keeping sustainability and seasonality at the core of it all.

In addition to the hands-on learning experience, guests can benefit from a comfortable break in the breathtaking surroundings of Lagoon Beach Hotel, a 4 star hotel overlooking the sea with Table Mountain as your back drop. Enjoy a delicious informal meal during the course of your experience and to make new, like-minded friends.

Chef Tjaart brings a wealth of cookery school experience as was formerly guided in education by Raymond Blanc at Le Manoir aux Quat Saisons, in his prestige cookery school in the UK.

Beginner Course

VENUE: LAGOON BEACH HOTEL, MILNERTON

From grilling and roasting to baking and smoking, you’ll be amazed at what you can cook using these simple techniques.

Throughout the class, you will be shown how to get the most out of your braai, to prepare anything from roasts to sous vide chicken, the ultimate pork crackling to puddings! In-depth tuition in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, will inspire you with the confidence and enthusiasm to really expand your WEBER experience.

Using Weber’s lid-on technique on both charcoal and gas barbecues, Chef Tjaart will spend two and a half hours teaching you the best way to cook a number of all time braai classics.

As part of this course you’ll be tasked with creating a part of the classes menu. You will be asked to prepare your own de-boned leg of lamb and be taught how to cut and portion a whole salmon trout. We will also show just one of the many possibilities to expand your braai menu with a demonstration of the famous “beer can chicken.”

In essence you will enjoy a 3 course dinner which will include wine, beers and soft drinks. There is a merchandise section where you can stock up on Weber products, credit card facilities are available.

The Ultimate Masterclass

Did you know that if you buy a Ferrari that you have to go on a specific driving course before you can accept your new sports car!

Well WEBER has a similar rule with the new Weber. You cannot just fire her up and cook like you usually do! You have to take a cookery class with Chef Tjaart to understand the fundamentals of this braai. The 3 – 4 hour class takes you into a world of technology, sophistication and a pinnacle point of food gastronomy. This weber experience is sure to blow you away in what a product can do for you and your food journey.

This course will run occasionally and specifically for those individuals that purchase the Charcoal Summit Weber. You will learn how to maximise and master the art in cooking on a Charcoal Summit. You will learn to prepare and cook food that will take your braai and outdoor living experience to another level. From roasting to baking you will cover just about everything in this class.

Treat friends, family or colleagues to a one-of-a-kind gastronomic experience.

Venture on a journey with a selected wine master from an estate that Tjaart associates as one of the best in the land where you’ll enjoy a tasting of wines and experiences from the estate. Then, MCC and canapés welcome you to a cooking demonstration by Chef Tjaart. Finally, enjoy an exquisite four-course dinner with accompanying wines, coffee and petits fours.
